Kevin S. Blum is Senior Counsel, Brands and Content Intellectual Property at NBCUniversal. He advises the Universal Destinations & Experiences, NBCUniversal Ad Sales & Client Partnerships, DreamWorks Animation, Universal Products & Experiences, and other business groups on a wide spectrum of intellectual property matters worldwide, including trademark portfolio management, brand protection, enforcement, domain name, and production and marketing issues. He previously provided similar services to other business groups at NBCUniversal, including NBC Sports, Telemundo, and Fandango. Additionally, he works with internal stakeholders to set domain name policies company-wide and manages NBCUniversal’s award-winning trademark paralegal team.

Before his time at NBCUniversal, Kevin practiced trademark and advertising law at Davis & Gilbert LLP and litigated intellectual property and entertainment matters at Proskauer Rose LLP.

Kevin is a graduate of Harvard Law School and Case Western Reserve University.

Jill M. Goldman is Associate General Counsel at Alarm.com Incorporated since 2022, a global technology company headquartered in Tysons, VA that represents the award-winning smart home and business security platform to millions of customers through its authorized dealers. Ms. Goldman represents the company in all in-house matters, specifically, commercial transactions, contracts, trademark and intellectual property, as well as supporting numerous subsidiaries. Prior to joining Alarm.com, Ms. Goldman’s 20+ year focus on intellectual property centered on her practice supporting in-house and external clients at the American Bankers Association, a financial services trade association located in Washington, DC and various NY corporations and law firms in the Fashion and Consumer packaged goods industry. She is an active member in the DC Bar Association, American Bar Association, Association of Corporate Counsel and INTA. Ms. Goldman is admitted to the bars of NY, DC, VA and graduated from UNH Franklin Pierce School of Law in Concord, NH with a LL.M. in Intellectual Property and a Juris Doctor and graduated from University of Florida in Gainesville, FL with a Bachelor of Arts in Theater and Bachelor of Science in Telecommunications. As an avid traveler in her free time, she has traveled to over 50 countries on 5 continents.

Mario Romero is Counsel at NBCUniversal, supporting the International Networks and Direct-to-Consumer division for Latin America, based out of Miami. He provides legal support for a wide range of clients—from editorial, on-air creative, marketing, digital growth, original productions, PR, talent, and program acquisitions—which means he’s constantly navigating the intersection of business, creativity, and the law (often in the same conversation).

Mario first joined the company as a law student, interning with the very legal team he now calls home. But before diving into contracts and compliance, he spent years behind the camera—working as a cinematographer and editor making promotions and commercials at Miami’s local CBS news station after having earned a bachelor’s degree in Film and Digital Productions from the Art Institute of Miami. That creative background turned out to be one of his greatest assets—it taught him how to collaborate with right-brained thinkers, helping to translate big ideas into practical solutions.

What’s driven him through every chapter—from editing timelines to redlining agreements—is a hunger for better, faster, smarter ways to work. Mario is always looking for tools that help cut through the noise and streamline the process, so that he and his team can provide better service to their clients. And that’s exactly what led him to AI, learning how AI chat assistants can become every lawyer’s secret weapon, helping them write sharper, research faster, and think more strategically.

Kashish Parikh-Chopra is Associate General Counsel at Alarm.com, where she focuses on legal issues surrounding Internet of Things (IoT) and Software as a Service (SaaS) technologies. She also serves as lead counsel for EnergyHub, a wholly owned subsidiary specializing in distributed energy resource management systems (DERMS) and virtual power plants that help utilities and consumers manage clean energy at scale.  Kashish has served multiple times as Interim Chief Compliance & Ethics Officer and is the author of Fortune Cookies For Law Students. In her spare time, Kashish practices Iaido, the Japanese martial art of samurai swordsmanship.
